Who is this service for?

Drivers of goods vehicles and vans who provide collection and delivery services to Hauliers as a contractor.

What does the service do?

The App provides you with the ability to receive transport jobs from Hauliers you have setup commercial relationships with. This enables them to provide the necessary information you need to execute a transport job, via the App, and the Haulier in turn, can collect the data they need to provide updates to their stakeholders as to the status of the transport requested.

Data we collect from you at sign up.

When you sign up to use the Road Tech Subby App, your email address, First Name and Surname are recorded so that we can communicate with you during the usage of the service and manage your account.

We process this data on the basis that we have a legitimate interest for our business, without the data we cannot offer you this service. We will store the data in our UK based Data Centre, a copy of the data will be cached onto your device.

What other Data we collect, what is it used for?

The app will record your device location during the execution of any job you accept, for the purpose of giving visibility of the status and location of the delivery to the Haulier and their stakeholders. If you decide not to provide location data you can disable it via your mobile device settings, but the service to the haulier and customer will be limited.

The device used will determine how the location data (Lat/Lon) will be provided to us, we may collect precise or approximate location data; it will be a combination of GPS, Wi-Fi & Cellular determined by the device and setting as set by you.

You, (the Drivers) have the option to record times that you arrive and depart a location. These dates and times will be used to keep the stakeholders appraised of progress and for historical analysis. The current location data will be presented to the Haulier and their stakeholders (Customer/Consignor/Consignee) through a user interface on a map to determine where the delivery is and for the system to estimate an arrival time at the delivery point. Select support staff at Road Tech will also have access to your data when requested to assist with a technical issue.

You can take photographs to record the status of the transport collection/delivery, these will be passed back to the Haulier and visible to the Hauliers Customer, usually the Consignor of the Delivery. The facility to record photos is specifically to record images in connection with the transport job that is being executed. Images are time, date and location stamped to enhance the evidential integrity. These images will be used as visual evidence of the delivery location and condition of the consignment, or to help locate an incorrect delivery location only. Collection of images for any other purpose is not permitted and must not contain images of living persons.

This system should only be used to give the driver the necessary information to execute the transport job and for the driver to provide execution, status, and location data back. Your contract with the Haulier is outside the scope of this agreement.

We collect data relating to your usage of the service including all collection and delivery event data to help us improve, provision the service effectively and provide billing audit and information.

We may gather App crash data to improve the software operation. We will also track connections through our systems for security and audit purposes, this could include your device IP address, operating system versions, and unique ID’s (system and device generated keys that allows the system to identify the correct device, jobs and users).

Once a transport job is complete the ownership of that data passes to the Haulier who contracted you to execute the transport request, making them the Data Controller.

We will retain the tracking data and execution event data attached to your Unique ID for the period that you subscribe to the service. If you indicate you no longer wish to use the service we will keep the tracking data for 30 days and then anonymise it. The data you input will be retained on our servers and owned by the Haulier that you provided the transport to, as audit and proof of the transport request and execution.

You have the right to request that your data is no longer processed, as well as the rights to rectification or deletion unless there is a legal basis to retain the data. More information on your rights as a data subject can be found on the ICO website.

All Data Subject Access Requests must be directed to your Data Controller, therefore please refer to the privacy policy for the Haulier that engaged you for further information. Their privacy policy and contact details will normally be available on their website.

We may update this policy from time to time, or as we add features to the App. We recommend you check back on our website to view any updates to our Privacy Polices.
